The area is currently being cleared for the disc golf course at Paint Creek. I will keep you posted as the course develops.

This is a course Tony Mason and I (Don Alexander) put in. We are currently raising the money to get the next 9 baskets in and I have secured enough for five baskets, just four more to go. The next nine will begin between the hole of seven and the tee pad for eight. It will go into the woods on your left. We designed it to be tough and no we will not move the tee pad for hole nine!

I should know by the end of March where we stand with the Paint Creek Disc Golf Course. I have one business willing to sink some big bucks into the course and I'm hoping to get enough all together to put in a 24 hole course. I also want to put in top of the line tee signs, concrete pads, Long tee pads, nice message board and other signs to give good direction. We need all the help we can get. Wouldn't it be great to have a 24 hole course in your back yard? You can help in two ways...
1. We will have a work day some time this summer. I'm planning on a Friday and Saturday event where we trim and put in the pads. As soon as I know those dates I'll post it.
2. I love playing disc golf. I love being able to throw at a variety of courses. I love paying no green fees. I'll betcha good money you love these things too. But you do know that it cost money to put these courses in, correct? Are you willing to help put in a 24 hole course? Come on man, help!! Can you contribute $20.00? Some of you could help with a $50.00 bill. You know it goes towards something you are going to enjoy for decades to come. Come on man, help!! If ten people help with twenty dollars apiece that would go a long way. You want another course in this area that is one of the best in Ohio? Then help do it, put in what you can, dig a little deeper. I have one disc golfer putting in $300.00 another putting in $200.00 and that disc golfer doesn't even live in Ohio but wants to help get good courses in. Surely you can help with at least a little bit can't you? Call me at 614-395-1959
Every contribution is tax deductible.
I'm not slamming the area courses. I love Pike Lake, Great Seal and OU Campus. These are great courses that are challenging. Jeff did an outstanding job getting these in. But I think everyone will agree with me that a 24 hole course would be really cool. Come on dudes, dig deep. Are there any disc golfers in this area willing to put in a couple hundred dollars? Anyone? Anyone at all?

I think we have enough funding available to make Paint Creek a 21 hole course. Not enough money has come in to seriously consider 24. Is a 21 hole course odd? I am willing to listen to anyone who would like to walk this course with me and offer suggestions. Needs to be done soon. 614-395-1959. Great cooperation from the Parks Department. I will be putting in a display at the Greenfield library the first of April and it will be there for that month.

I say focus on a great 18 hole disc golf course with great teepads as well. I have played a couple 20+ hole courses and would just prefer the ol 18 holes. Most of those courses seem to be smushed in when 18 would have been a perfect course. Plus funding in the future from tournaments at the course would help with the extra holes or alternate pin placements. Hope this helped you in some way..

okay, Let me begin by saying that what I'm about to tell you is etched in sand. As of now Paint Creek will be 18 holes with concrete pads and cool colorful signs. The first two holes will be the same. Hole three will go through the rough woods behind the basket of two and the new hole four will be throwing at current basket of hole three but from a different tee pad. (did you follow that?) The current hole four becomes hole five and the current hole five becomes hole six. You then cross the road going towards that parking lot to throw two holes. The first is maybe a 300 foot semi-open shot with a line of pines about 100 feet in front of the basket acting as a guard. The next hole is similar but the guard is about 40 feet in front of the basket. You then proceed to the current hole 7 which becomes hole 9. (The current hole six will be taken out). The new hole 9 is that first hole in the pines. After you throw that hole you will go left and throw 7 holes in what I'm calling the maple holes. It is an open woods and six of the holes are around 200-230 feet and one hole just over 300 feet. Some elevation here. You are now back to the current hole of 8 which will become hole 17 and the current hole 9 will be hole 18. Clear as mud? It will be around 4800 feet long.

As clear as mud YEP Never been to paint creek but when I heard 4800 feet made me think of my home course "Flatrocks" which is 4853 feet long. I think Flatrocks is a great course for all levels of play and I am really surprised at how I don't get sick of playing it like I should be being that I am there ALL the time! I look forward to a kick 18 hole course and remember you can always add later!! Make sure ya keep me in the loop so I can help with the grunt work!!

Walked the proposed new holes today with Jeff the park ranger and he gave us a thumbs up. We will start the clearing soon. We will be pouring a few concrete pads for the existing holes soon. We could have a work day April 30th if anyone is interested. Please respond if you could help. The new footage is now at 4823 feet. 1 hole under 200 feet but it is uphill. 10 holes over 200 feet. 5 holes over 300 feet. 2 holes over 400 feet.
