If anyone sees these guys moving baskets around call the police....it is destruction of private property. I will be putting the course back to original this weekend. I talked to OUC today and nobody has been authorized to make changes to the course.

Jim Bost and I put things back where they belong. The idiots had pulled the practice basket out and it was in the spot for hole 5. The hole 5 basket had been moved so the shot was shooting towards the road. They even moved the tee sign. Everything is back to normal.
If you idiots that did it read this, OUC is not your private course to arrange how you want it. The course belongs to OUC and I am the course official. If I find out who you are I will have you prosecuted.

I was happy to see some new tees and basket locations set up at the course. It was the first progress on developing the underused land on the campus.
Is there any chance we could start a vote, or petition on keeping them? I'm sure a lot of people would be all for it. I'm guessing anyone that can throw further than 100 ft, and tired of using a putter, would sign.
Instead of moving them back, maybe you can reposition some other baskets and tees to improve the course? Or even spend that time maintaining the course?
Just a few thoughts from a player.
But if i see the people moving any baskets, I'll be sure to let them know that it is destruction of private property, and they should stop immediately.

I agree with the petition or vote. OUC is my home course; however, the up keep on the course is not there. I understand Jeff that your are the course designer and director and that whoever moved the baskets should have gone through you and did it the right way; however, with that being said why not pass the torch onto someone else if the load is getting to great? Its obvious people want change and want to mix the course up a bit. I personally liked the new holes! Jus

I am with barefoot here. I as well do not know who moved the baskets but changing the course around a little made it more fun. There is plenty of room to work with there if permitted by the university. I also think some fundraisers for concrete tee pads would go a long way and I would be the first to pull out that pesky root on hole 11's box!

i applaud anyone doing anything up there. the course is in desperate need of some attention. as i understand there are some students trying to get a club together (or may have already)through the university...so changes may be coming down the road.

Pike Lake, OU and Great Seal need somebody to do something. No one picks up trash or cuts out the briars or trims branches at these courses. I travel a little bit and these three courses would be in my top five worst kept courses that I have been to. Who is responsible for the upkeep on these courses? Jeff? Jeff is a great guy (how can you not like jeff?) but no way can he keep three courses trimmed. I don't know but somebody needs to take ownership (call yourself the course pro) and take care of these courses. one person per course. You need to do it correctly and contact the proper Parks people and fill out a volunteer paper. I have always thought the TD for the tournament was responsible for course upkeep. Am I wrong? Concerning moving the baskets around. I remember when I heard that they put in new pin placements at Griggs. I wasn't happy when I heard it but after throwing several times I now know it was a good idea. Change doesn't come easy. Thats my two cents worth. I love the courses I mentioned but Paint keeps me plenty busy. Wanting to add three new holes next year.

paint creek is fantastic...that goes without saying. the work you have put in speaks for itself. ouc has got a great group that plays there, but apparently have no authority to do anything. every effort for change is thwarted, which is discouraging and the reason some have now chosen to stay away(myself included)...i often wonder if the university knows or wants the course there. i have heard of a club ( with funding) that is being organized within the school. i hope this is true and will bring change there. if i had any say, which i don't, i'd move several baskets or tee pads... it certainly is time. and most regulars agree...
