First I want to apologize, I was just a little angry when I wrote the first post. Every club member's opinion counts, and a lot of points that were made are valid. But, I don't want to see this club fall apart because everyone's all too ready to complain about whats wrong without being willing to help fix it.
As far as the rubber pads goes, everyone has been complaining about how much our pads suck. That much is agreed upon. And it's already been established that no permanent fixture, such as concrete, is allowed. The rubber pads are the most cost effective semi-permanent fixture possible. Yes, right now they are in the way. It takes time to put them in correctly. A group was out working on saturday and got a couple holes completed. Yes, right now they are slippery. The rubber mats that we have we got at a great price, but some work needs to be done to them. We are currently trying to come up with the best way to texturize them. But it will get done. And honestly, anything we put out, even if permanance and money were not an issue, will be slippery at one point in time or another. It's an outdoor sport. We can't change the weather.
And yes, Chuck will be reimbursed for the costs of the rubber mats. But that has been one of the biggest topics as far as course improvement goes. So I don't really see how the club paying for these mats can be considered a waste of money.
As far as some of the issues brought up about the LDGA...
The meeting have become a lot more civilized. I can understand why a lot of people don't attend them if they had attended earlier meetings. But again, they have gotten much better and will continue to do so.
I don't know if our bank acount is public, but I am working on finding that out, and if it isn't, it will be. I can promise everyone that no one is lining their pockets with LDGA funds. That money has been going to course improvement ( tee pads), costs from our tournaments, and prizes.
And yes, part of the LDGA's responsibility is course improvement. The thing of it is, the LDGA doesn;t just consist of 5 board members. It is every member in the club.
Overall, we're a young club, and we definately have our problems to sort out. I want to see our club succeed, but if we're all at eachother's throat, that's never going to happen. We have to start working these issues out and coming up with solutions. So as Jeff Brock said, "Let's see this work".
P.S.
I have no idea what pregnant doging is. Appearently they attempt to creatively change cuss words.
