We have eighteen baskets in at Paint Creek. I threw it yesterday with Tony, Mike and Dan and had a two over. The new holes in the Maples are short but tough. Lots of trees like Pike Lake. After the fifth hole you go across the road by the bike trail and throw two holes then go back to what was hole six. This hole will probably be taken out once the other holes are put in. After the first hole in the pines go to the left to get into the Maple holes. It is clearly marked. And as always, I'm available to throw with anyone who wants a guide. By the way, on holes one, five and six; on or over the road is ob. No two meter rule is in effect sidearmdon

Hey sidearmdon. I had no idea that there was a course at Paint Creek until I started reading this forum. I live just outside of Leesburg on the Greenfield side and would have been throwing on this course had I known. Pike lake has been my course of choice up to now. Exactly where is the course located? I've been to Paint Creek for various events and such over the years, but I'm not familiar with the layout of the entire park. Thanks!

Muggins, This course is new, just went in. There are eighteen with the strong possibility of making it a 21 hole course. natural pads as of right now but we have the money, just need to get the time and manpower to put in concrete. Call me man, I'll take you out there. Hole one is close to the snack shop. 614-395-1959 is my cell phone. I live in Greenfield.

Thanks for the update, Don. Incidentally, I was able to find the course the day after my initial post on the forum. I had a bit of a time navigating it, but I finally figured it out. A couple of the early maple holes have some of the tightest dog leg shots I've seen anywhere. I'm assuming every whole is going to be a par 3? I shoot most courses that way just as a standard. I've got a busy week ahead, but I'm hoping to get there once more and to Pike Lake once more before the tournament this weekend.

Threw even on Sunday (7/24) morning. Deuces on 3, 8 (old 6) and 13. Bogies on 2 (This one really stunk. Sawed off the drive and ended up in the briars.), 5 and 15. I'm ready to play, Don, when you get back from worlds. (937) 403-4039.

A buddy and I made our way over to play a couple of times the last two weeks. Noticed you've outlined a spot for the concrete slabs on most of the holes. We grabbed a map from the camp store, and I personally loved holes 7 through 9. I noticed baskets everywhere in the trees, I just had a hard time figuring out where the tees were on those. After 9, do you just swing around to the left to start 10?
Love what you guys are doing, and can't wait to see how things progress!
edit: re-read the original post in this thread and now have a better understanding of how it's set up.

I know earlier I said I had thrown a two down at Paint but that was before we moved several tee pads back. Under the current layout, which should be where it will stay, I threw my best round at Paint today a one down. Meeting with the Park manager tomorrow about getting the three additional holes in.

Scott Kanuth from Columbus has the course record at Paint Creek as far as I know at four under. There have been no aces recorded at this course. Yet.

Played 2 rounds this afternoon, +6 and +3. Back nine has improved tremendously since the last time I was down. Plenty birdies to be had, just didn't capitalize. Managed to birdie 15 (low laser thru the middle with a Star Vulcan and got a little skip to about 9'); and also birdied 18 (same shot, same disc, thru the shortcut) after landing about 12' away. Can't wait to get back down! Great work Don
Managed 6 bogey's in the +3 round. Only disappointment of the day.

Bogied 7 & 10 both times. Have trouble with my forehand, but can normally flip my DX Valkyrie thru the opening on 7, not today. 15 & 18 were pretty fortunate to get thru, as they were probably a few inches from slamming trees. Hope to get out with ya soon, Don. I'll be in town next May 12-13.
