Do you like to receive a players pack to include a custom stamped tournament disc when you go to tournaments?

doesn't matter to me ...although if the stamp is cool enough i'll hang it on the wall and not throw it. usually depends on spuds artwork....

wow thats a good question i can see both side on this one ---- myself i like the idea of a bigger pay out and no player packs i don't use very many of the discs and i don't collect -- ( not counting ace discs ) but most of the tourneys you ( jeff ) run have a very big rec field and most are new to the tournament scene and they love getting new discs and i have heard several players say the like your tourneys because you give the players packs .. they say it makes them feel they get some thing even if they don't win -- sorry not very helpful but tying to be fare

It has no bearing on whether or not I go, neither does the cash tho. But 2/3's of players usually aren't in the payout, or at least 50%, I agree w/the above poster to make sure they go home w/something if they've placed well. At least in the non open divisions.

i think playerpacks for pros is a definate no, and for am1 its probably not unless you get some special hard to get disc, cfr or something, for am2, its maybe, am3 its yes, am4 its definately. this means if you do them for the general public then the higher divisions will be less happy. and if you cut them out completely the lowest divisions will be less happy. its a tough spot, but if you can do it for am4/am3 or 2.3.4 that would probably yield the best results. the higher divisions, open, masters, and am1 generally are more competitive and have been playing long enough that they dont need/or want random discs. thats why a pick your own payout works best for the higher am divisions too.

I like it, you can't go wrong giving stuff away. Even if you don't place, you leave with something.

It doesn't sway my decision either way but I'm not a huge fan of player packs unless its (like Zac said) a hard to find disc, something brand new on the market, or a special disc of some sort.
I have a couple hundred discs sitting in the basement that I don't throw now so extra plastic isn't a motivator to me. I think its important though for newer players or players playing in lower divisions who don't have a large selection of plastic or are still in the phase of trying out new stuff to see what works for them.

I think its lame not to have a disc for playerspack ,they only cost 5 -10 bucks a piece depending on stamp and plastic. It will bring new players back for bigger turnouts. How bout even lamer, when you drive 3 hours to a tournament (frosted flatrock) come in first place intermediate and not receive 1 disc ,this will discourage people to come to your events @ all. sincerely wish i would have came in second and got more than cold feet and pizza 4 my money. how many people payed to play 120 mostly Am

my opinion is that the open should do pay out..and there should be some discs payed out for the lower divisions, a lot of begins and inter players i think like receiving something even if they don't win...but remember the old saying....drive for show...putt for dough...

The trophies were kicka$$. And if you're going to a charity event, you really shouldn't expect much in the way of schwag. You should be in for the camaraderie, sportsmanship, the charity, friendship and fun. Frankly, the trophies were much cooler than discs you may not want anyway, IMO.

the trophies were nice, probly should have been printed on a disc and not a plack if they were not giving away any other disc. Regardless its is best to post that there will be no plastic giving to 1st place only a donated trophey,b4 people travel to your event and become upset that they waisted so much money and time getting there. its simple people come to events xpecting to win @ least 1 disc regardless if it is charity. Tell me did open only recive more than the donated trophey? If you want to see how to run an event without robbing people ,show up @ the harbin rat classic march 15th am only.everyone will get somthing and everyone will be happy .bring your own cold pizza .
